Welcome to the official site of the 14th Annual Hagerstown Youth Triathlon, presented by Racine MultiSports.
Description: This Youth distance Triathlon will start and end at Halfway Park in Hagerstown, MD…..just 25 minutes from Frederick, MD and 90 minutes from Baltimore and DC. The entire Youth race is within the park and is overall an easy course. We will host the Hagerstown Sprint Triathlon and Hagerstown 5K Run #2 during this weekend. See those pages for details.

Swim Course: The swim is in a 25 meter pool which is only 4 feet deep. Youth racers will have the swim lane to themselves and will complete 2 lengths (1 lap) for ages 8 & under, 4 lengths (2 laps) for ages 9 to 12, and 6 lengths (3 laps) for ages 13 to 15.
Bike Course: The bike course is a 1.5 mile out and back on the park road with a slight uphill on the way out and a slight downhill on the way back. One lap for ages 6 to 10 and 2 laps for ages 11 to 15. BIKE COURSE IS NOT CLOSED TO VEHICLE TRAFFIC.
Run Course: The run is on a path and is only slightly rolling. Both the .75 and 1.5 mile distances will be an out and back.
Transition Area: There is only one transition area, on pavement, for this event.
Start: We will start with ages 8 & under, followed by ages 9 & 10, 11 & 12, and 13 to 15.
Timing: This event will be professionally chip timed! We will be providing race day results at our results kiosk immediately after you finish your race. We will also provide a web link to results that you can share with your family and friends so they can follow your race on their web devices.
Course Support: We will have water and sport drink at the water in transition as well as at the finish line. There are no water or food stations on the bike course. We will also have food items at the finish line area for volunteers and participants only.
Athlete Responsibility: USAT rules state that it is the athletes responsibility to know the course. Please study the map and drive, or even better practice, the course.
This race is sanctioned by USAT.
Please note that the entry fees below do not include any USAT fees. During registration you will be required to enter your member number or buy a one day license. During packet pick up members will be required to show a membership card and a valid photo ID. One day license purchasers will only need to provide a valid photo ID.

Refund Policy: Racine MultiSports does not offer refunds for this race, however race insurance is available for purchase during registration.
If you are unable to race and purchased race insurance during registration you will need to contact the provider directly to determine if you are eligible for a refund. If you are unable to race and did not buy insurance you can cancel your registration and receive a coupon to use towards another Racine MultiSports race within 12 months of your race date. The coupon value is determined below. The cancellation offer will expire when we are 10 days out from the race or closer. Contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org to initiate this process.
- Races not sold out, you will receive a 75% coupon credit until 10 days prior to the event.
- Races sold out or within 10 days of the event, there is no coupon offer for cancellations.
- The coupon value will be deducted from the fee you are paying for a future race. You will owe any balance due over the coupon value. (example: if the race is $75.00 and your coupon value is $50.00 then you will need to cover the $25.00 difference).

There are no awards based on place as this is a non-competitive event designed to encourage youth athletes to become and stay active. All finishers will receive a finisher medal.
Event Rules: All athletes must have an approved helmet with the chin strap fastened before entering the bike course. Your local bike shop can provide you with assistance to ensure your helmet meets approval. Bikers and runners must obey all traffic rules/laws and race official instructions. Roads will not be closed to vehicular traffic. Volunteers will be placed in key areas to help direct race traffic. Parents can accompany their child the entire race but must not assist. Caution must be used to not block other athletes.
Age: The athletes age will be based on their age as of December 31, 2020, per USAT rules.
