The YMCA of Cumberland is proud to host the 33rd Annual Rocky Gap Sprint Triathlon and 6th Annual Duathlon! This is a great venue for multisport racing and vacationing. Come to Rocky Gap for a scenic and exciting race experience!
GIVING: The YMCA of Cumberland is appreciative of the generosity and commitment of our donors. Gifts to the Y enable us to ensure the future of the important programs and services that we offer to the community, especially those programs geared toward our youth. If you are interested in becoming a donor, there are several ways that you can help.
Annual Giving: Contributions to our Annual Campaign provide financial assistance for membership to the kids and families who need us most, and allow the Y to provide quality programs for all. All donations to the Annual Campaign are awarded to local families.
Start: The duathlon will be a mass start while the triathlon will be separated into waves and will be an in water start.
Swim Course: The swim course is a 0.25 mile course in Lake Habeeb. Water temperatures are usually 65-80 degrees in early June. Wet suits are allowed but not provided. Waves will be identified by swim cap color. The swim will be an in water start.
Bike Course: The bike course is a rolling 8 mile course. It leaves the transition area in Rocky Gap and navigates out and back on Pleasant Valley Road. The road is not closed to vehicles. Helmets are required!
Run Course: The run course is a rolling 5K course which includes part dirt trail, gravel and asphalt. The Duathlon will run this course for both the first and third legs of the race.
Transition Area: There is only one transition area for this event located near the beach at Rocky Gap. Bikes will be racked race morning. There will be no bike inspection.
Timing: This event will be professionally chip timed by Racine Timing! Searchable race results will be provided so your followers can track you on their smart phones or web devices.

This event is sanctioned by USA Triathlon. All USA Triathlon rules will be followed. Please consult the official website for all rules. The rules listed here are some of the most common rules broken. All athletes must have an approved helmet with the chin strap fastened before entering the bike course. Your local bike shop can provide you with assistance to ensure your helmet meets approval. Drafting is prohibited on the bike course. You must keep 4 bike lengths from the cyclist in front of you. Bikers and runners must obey all traffic rules/laws and race official instructions. It is the responsibility of the athletes to know the race course. Volunteers will be placed in key areas to help direct race traffic. No outside assistance is allowed and no one other than the athletes are permitted in the transition area.
Immediately following the completion of the race there will be an awards ceremony.
Triathlon awards include overall male and female, Team and Age Groups winners and runners up. As well as the winners of the Clydesdale/Athena (Male 220+, females 165+ lbs). Age Groups are as follows: 15 and under, 16-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80+

Please note that the entry fees below do not include any USAT fees. During registration you will be required to enter your member number or buy a one day license. During packet pick up members will be required to show a membership card and a valid photo ID. One day license purchasers will only need to provide a valid photo ID.
You must be 13 years of age or older to participate in this event.

There are no refunds, transfers or deferments for this race. If you are unable to race you can request a deferment code to receive a coupon to use towards the following years race. The coupon value is determined below.
Races not sold out, you will receive a 75% coupon credit until 7 days prior to the event.
Races sold out or within 7 days of the event, there is no coupon offer for cancellations.
Coupons do not cover any registration fees that are higher than the value of the coupon.
