Martin Marietta at Pinesburg Quarry is proud to host the 5th Annual Boulder Dash at Pinesburg Quarry! This event will be held in and around the Pinesburg Quarry in Williamsport, MD. This event is designed for all levels from beginners to advanced runners. Enjoy a unique race that allows you to run around a working quarry (for safety purposes the quarry will not be operational during the event)!
Race Limit: 300 combined 5 Mile Challenge and Family Friendly 5k participants, 100 1 Mile Fun Run participants
Start: We will use a mass start for all races.
Timing: This event will be professionally chip timed using disposable bib tags on the back of the race bibs! Bibs must be worn on the front of your shirt and be visible at all times. Results will be provided by Racine Timing and will be available LIVE. We will provide a web link to results that you can share with your family and friends so they can follow your race on their web devices.
Event Rules: Runners must obey all race official instructions. Runners must follow the course as indicated by signage, cones, and course officials. No deviation will be allowed before, during, or after the race. Bibs must be worn on the front of your body at all times.

Course
Description: The 1 Mile Fun Run and Family Friendly 5K are on gently rolling roads and packed gravel surfaces around the quarry. For an extra challenge, the 5 Mile race takes you down into both the main quarry and the old quarry. While all races are mostly on packed gravel, be prepared for uneven surfaces and slightly rocky sections.
Timing: This event will be professionally chip timed by Racine Timing!
Maps:
Challenge 5 Mile– This course is rated difficult and hilly, taking you down into both the main quarry and the old quarry.
Family Friendly 5K– This course is rated moderate and is gently rolling. It will not go down into the quarries.
1 Mile Fun Run– This course is rated easy and flat.

Awards Ceremony Immediately following the event
Awards:
Immediately following the completion of the race there will be an awards ceremony for the Family Friendly 5K & 5 Mile Challenge.
Awards include top overall male and female and 1st place Age Group winners for both the Family Friendly 5k and the 5 Mile Challenge. Age Groups are as follows for the Family Friendly 5K: 12 and under, 13- 15, 16-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, 80+. Age Groups are as follows for the 5 Mile Challenge: 15 and under, 16-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, 80+.
