2018 HIGHLIGHTS
In 2018 we added new races to our lineup.
The Antietam Brewery 5K and Beer Mileproved a very successful addition and athletes are already buzzing about signing up for 2019.
In Luray, we added two duathlons to the Luray Triathlon event weekend. There is now an international distance duathlon and a sprint distance duathlon, opening up additional opportunities for our multisport athletes to enjoy this amazing weekend of racing.
We’ve seen an increase in aquabike athletes and remind you that we offer aquabike categories at our Fort Ritchie Triathlon, Hagerstown Sprint Triathlon, and at our Luray Triathlon.
Our open water swimming athletes enjoyed attending our practice swims offered at Fort Ritchie in Maryland and Luray in Virginia as well as competing in the Swim Fest Fort Ritchie and Swim Fest Luray. Swim Fest Luray has quickly become a favorite and reached record numbers this year. Our 4500 Club athletes also reached record numbers at Swim Fest Fort Ritchie and Swim Fest Luray.
We’ve seen an increase in our youth events in 2018 and are proud that our Hagerstown Youth Triathlon was chosen to be a part of the Maryland Youth Triathlon Series.
We were honored that the Fort Ritchie Triathlon, as well as the Luray Triathlon, were chosen as official USAT High School Championship races, which helps introduce high school athletes to the sport of Triathlon.
The Hagerstown Duathlon Series continued to be a favorite among multisport athletes for opening their race season with our Hagerstown Duathlon #1 and closing their race season with our Hagerstown Duathlon #2.
In 2018 we had course records set, new races, and new faces. We look forward to what 2019 will bring and invite you to join us.
